Barney Gives Good Lego

And I thought I was good at Lego...

...if he's doing these at 5, what will he be making at 11?

Oh no, I've a nasty feeling that he could end up a coder...

This is Daddy's Boat...

"...and that's me and Tom sailing in it"

(sailing geeks might note the accuracy of the Laser insignia on the sail.)

Hammersley Does Auntie

Ben Hammersley writes about Dear Auntie Beeb in today's Grauniad.

Good stuff in general, and he spotted the really important bits... misquotes me waffling in amost dull fashion about local history and local radio.

I doubtless did say all that guff, but Ben should have know that the bit I really wanted to be quoted was my passionate, arm waving, cojones-esque mantra about driving participation in the UK's digital social network

Or somesuch.

Who Stole Me Source?

A year ago I made a rather lo-fi website for my kids' nursery.

It remains lo-fi cos my gf never bothered to do the paintwork, and well, y'know. I like lo-fi... 'Fuck The Paint' is my fave Matt Jones web design dogma...

It does OK, mainly cos I use it to play with Google, AllTheWeb, Inktomi et al, and so it comes up trumps for a fair number of search terms.

Well, some nursery in Somerset just nicked my scrappy HTML & stylesheets.

The fools. I really hope they didn't pay for it...

More Map Porn

Only Streetmap would think to make it so darn easy to convert between a postcode / Longitude & Latitude / Ordinance Survey X-Y / point on a map...

Yup, Kate and Penny, you rock my world...

Earth's Second Moon

Blimey. Earth has more than one moon...

And what's more, we might have just acquired a third

Earth's second one is called Cruithne. It was discovered in 1986 and it takes a convoluted horseshoe path around our planet as it is tossed about by the Earth's and the Moon's gravity.

Lost Land

Who owns the land under elevated sections of major roads?

Maps are only 2D, and I bet there's "lost" land out there due to systems being unable to cope with land that exists on 2D maps & GIS systems as "road" but is actually habitable/usable...

Anyone?

Map Porn

Streetmap is just about my all time most useful site. Does the simple things fast, and doesn't make you think.

And then I find this, which takes it onto a whole 'nother level.
